Microsoft Exchange Hosting Provider Elephant Outlook Standardizes on 4Gb/s EMC(R) CLARiiON(R) UltraScale(TM) CX3-20 Systems for Continuous Replication to Maximize Performance, Functionality and Reliability

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Elephant Outlook, a leading email messaging provider of business-critical Microsoft Exchange Hosting, today announced it has standardized its information infrastructure on multiple EMC CLARiiON CX3-20 networked storage systems to deliver more flexibility, scalability and performance to its mission-critical email infrastructure. The new end-to-end 4 gigabit-per-second (Gb/s) Fibre Channel EMC CLARiiON UltraScale architecture will provide the foundation for Elephant Outlook's managed Microsoft Exchange 2007 hosting service. The new hardware strategy will increase fault tolerance, service availability and service continuity.

Continuous replication is a new Microsoft Exchange 2007 feature in which Microsoft Exchange databases and log files are copied to a secondary location. The databases being accessed by clients contain the active copy of the database, and the databases in the secondary location contain the passive copy of the database. To provide the highest levels of storage resiliency, Elephant Outlook will utilize independent EMC CLARiiON CX3-20 storage arrays that are isolated from the active copy's storage array.
